I told the algorithm I had joined the fellowship. I did not sign up. I joined. Two acts: the act of will to stop drinking and the act of joining a community. Nobody checks you, judges you or puts you on a list. The only condition of belonging is a desire to stop drinking. I said that does not mean there is no threshold. Every condition is a threshold. And that is true. The threshold exists — it is just set at the level of one sentence in your head: I have had enough. Or: I want to try it differently. That threshold does not separate better
