It is waiting for an author who has come through a crisis — addiction, a cult, an illness, a loss — and wants to write about it. Anonymously, under a pen name, with the editing done together.

I’ll tell you the truth: nothing here is ready yet. I have no readers. The rules for writing safely about crisis are still ahead of us — we’ll set them together. For now I am on my own. I haven’t talked anyone into it yet. No editor has written back. The emails go out into silence.

But I believe deeply that it will work. And you are exactly who I am waiting for, so that we can push it forward together. That belief is enough for me.
